Leonard Mendoza, Owner and President of AIS Inc., has been a licensed New Mexico Irrigation Contractor since 1998. With extensive education and hands-on training in irrigation system design, theory, and application, Leonard brings over two decades of experience to every project.
Before returning full-time to AIS Inc., Leonard served as the Water Resources Specialist for Albuquerque Public Schools (APS). During his tenure, he led the design and implementation of APS’s state-of-the-art Motorola Irrigation System, which now operates over IP across the district’s network. This multi-million-dollar system includes more than 3,000 program lines and 350 irrigation controllers, allowing district-wide monitoring and water management from a single central computer. His leadership in this initiative helped APS reduce overall water use by over 20%.
Today, Leonard applies that same level of innovation and efficiency at AIS Inc., helping HOAs and large facilities modernize and manage complex irrigation systems. His mission is to bring proven, data-driven water management solutions to the broader community — improving performance, reducing waste, and ensuring long-term sustainability.
AIS Inc. also works closely with the Water Authority to resolve compliance issues and support responsible water use throughout New Mexico.
